Author Guidelines

The Iraqi Journal for Applied Science (IJAS) provides clear and comprehensive guidelines to assist authors in preparing and submitting their manuscripts. Authors are required to follow these instructions carefully to ensure a smooth review and publication process.

1. Types of Manuscripts

IJAS accepts the following types of submissions:

  • Original Research Articles

  • Review Articles

  • Short Communications

  • Technical Reports

All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

2. Manuscript Preparation

Authors must prepare their manuscripts according to the journal template. The manuscript should include the following sections:

  • Title (clear and concise)

  • Author(s) information (full name, affiliation, email, ORCID)

  • Abstract (200–300 words)

  • Keywords (4–6 keywords)

  • Introduction

  • Materials and Methods

  • Results and Discussion

  • Conclusion

  • References

3. Formatting Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear and professional English

  • Use the journal template provided

  • References should follow IEEE citation style

  • All figures and tables must be properly labeled and cited in the text

4. Submission Process

All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system (OJS). Authors should ensure that all required files are uploaded, including:

  • Manuscript file

  • Cover Letter

  • Supplementary materials (if applicable)

5. Article Processing Charges (APC)

IJAS charges an Article Processing Fee (APC) of 150 USD per accepted manuscript.

  • No submission fees are required

  • APC is payable only after acceptance

6. Ethical Considerations

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original and free from plagiarism

  • All sources are properly cited

  • Ethical approval is obtained where required

The journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics.

7. Peer Review

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process to ensure scientific quality and integrity.

8. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their work. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

9. Important Notes

  • Submissions that do not follow the guidelines may be rejected without review

  • Authors are encouraged to carefully revise their manuscripts before submission
