Retraction Policy

The Iraqi Journal for Applied Science (IJAS) is committed to maintaining the integrity and reliability of the scientific record. In cases where serious issues are identified in published articles, the journal follows a clear and transparent retraction process.


Grounds for Retraction

An article may be retracted under the following circumstances:

  • Evidence of plagiarism or duplicate publication

  • Fabrication or falsification of data

  • Serious methodological errors that invalidate the results

  • Ethical violations, including undisclosed conflicts of interest

  • Unauthorized use of data or materials


Retraction Process

  • The journal will conduct a thorough investigation in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics

  • Authors will be contacted and given the opportunity to respond

  • The final decision will be made by the editorial board


Retraction Notice

  • A formal retraction notice will be published

  • The original article will remain accessible but clearly marked as “Retracted”

  • The reason for retraction will be clearly stated


Corrections and Updates

If errors are minor and do not affect the overall findings, the journal may issue:

  • Corrections (Erratum)

  • Updates or clarifications


Author Responsibility

Authors are expected to cooperate fully with the journal during investigations and provide all necessary information when requested.


Editorial Responsibility

The editorial board is responsible for ensuring that all retraction decisions are fair, transparent, and in line with ethical publishing standards.
