Iraqi Journal for Applied Science (IJAS)

The Iraqi Journal for Applied Science (IJAS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal committed to promoting the widest possible dissemination of scholarly research while safeguarding the intellectual property rights of authors. The journal follows internationally recognized copyright, licensing, and open-access practices in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing, Crossref, Creative Commons, and global Open Science initiatives.

The journal believes that unrestricted access to scientific knowledge accelerates research, fosters innovation, encourages collaboration, and maximizes the visibility and impact of published work.

Copyright Ownership

Authors publishing in IJAS retain full copyright and moral rights to their published work.

Publication in IJAS does not require the transfer of copyright ownership to the journal.

By submitting and publishing their work, authors grant IJAS a non-exclusive, irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual license to:

Publish the article in electronic and other media.
Distribute and communicate the work publicly.
Make the article permanently available through the journal website.
Archive and preserve the published Version of Record.
Register article metadata with Crossref.
Assign a Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
Deposit metadata with indexing, abstracting, discovery, and preservation services.
Promote published articles through scholarly communication channels.
Preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.

Author Rights

Authors retain the unrestricted right to:

Share the published Version of Record.
Deposit the published article in institutional, disciplinary, or funder repositories.
Include the article in theses or dissertations.
Reuse figures, tables, and portions of the article in future publications.
Reproduce the work in books, lectures, teaching materials, and presentations.
Distribute copies to colleagues, students, and research collaborators.
Satisfy institutional and funding agency Open Access requirements.
Reuse the work in any lawful manner consistent with the CC BY 4.0 License.

Whenever the published work is reused, appropriate citation of the original IJAS publication must be provided.

Journal Rights

To ensure the integrity, discoverability, and long-term accessibility of the scholarly record, IJAS reserves the right to:

Register metadata with Crossref.
Deposit metadata with indexing and abstracting services.
Disseminate published articles through scholarly databases.

These rights do not affect copyright ownership, which remains with the author(s).

Self-Archiving Policy

IJAS fully supports responsible self-archiving.

Authors may immediately deposit the published Version of Record in:

Research group websites
Funding agency repositories

provided that:

the original IJAS publication is cited,
the DOI is included,
the CC BY 4.0 License is acknowledged.

No embargo period applies.

Digital Preservation

IJAS is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of published scholarly content.

Published articles are preserved through the journal's digital archiving strategy and, where applicable, trusted preservation services adopted by the journal to ensure the permanent availability, integrity, and authenticity of the scholarly record.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Generated Content

Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, integrity, and authenticity of all submitted work.

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Generative AI tools during manuscript preparation must be transparently disclosed in accordance with the journal's Artificial Intelligence Policy.

AI systems:

cannot be listed as authors,
cannot hold copyright,
cannot assume responsibility for published work.

Authors remain solely accountable for all scientific content.

Reuse of Published Content

Readers, researchers, educators, institutions, libraries, publishers, and third parties may freely reuse published content in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 License without requesting additional permission from either the journal or the authors.
