Sponsorship and Funding Policy

The Iraqi Journal for Applied Science (IJAS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the University of Diyala, Iraq.

The journal receives institutional support from the University of Diyala to facilitate its publishing activities and ensure the sustainability of its editorial and publishing operations. This institutional support is provided solely to maintain the journal's scholarly infrastructure and does not influence editorial decisions or the peer-review process.

IJAS is committed to maintaining complete editorial independence, financial transparency, and the highest standards of publication ethics.

Institutional Support

The University of Diyala provides institutional support for the journal, including:

  • Journal hosting and publishing infrastructure.
  • Technical maintenance of the journal platform.
  • Administrative and editorial support.
  • Information technology services.
  • Digital archiving and preservation infrastructure.
  • Institutional governance and oversight.
  • Long-term sustainability of journal operations.

This institutional support enables the journal to provide reliable, professional, and sustainable scholarly publishing services to the international research community.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are made independently of the journal's sponsor or publisher.

The University of Diyala, supporting institutions, funding bodies, and any external organizations do not participate in editorial decision-making, peer-review evaluations, manuscript acceptance, or publication priorities.

Editorial decisions are based exclusively on:

  • Scientific originality.
  • Research quality.
  • Methodological rigor.
  • Ethical compliance.
  • Relevance to the journal's aims and scope.
  • Reviewers' recommendations.
  • Editorial judgment.

The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board retain full responsibility for all editorial decisions.

Financial Transparency

IJAS is committed to full transparency regarding its financial practices.

Information relating to publication fees, Article Processing Charges (APCs), waivers, and other publication policies is publicly available on the journal website.

The journal does not impose hidden fees or undisclosed publication charges.

Any future changes to publication fees or funding arrangements will be announced through the journal's official communication channels before implementation.

External Funding and Sponsorship

At present, IJAS does not receive commercial sponsorship, advertising revenue, or financial support from private organizations that could influence editorial decisions or the publication process.

If external funding, sponsorship, grants, or partnerships are received in the future, the journal will publicly disclose:

  • The identity of the funding organization.
  • The nature of the financial support.
  • Any potential conflicts of interest.
  • Measures implemented to safeguard editorial independence.

Such support will not influence the editorial evaluation, peer-review process, or publication decisions.

Advertising Policy

IJAS does not permit advertising or commercial promotional content to influence editorial decisions or published content.

Any advertising, if introduced in the future, will be clearly distinguished from editorial content and managed independently of the peer-review and editorial processes.

Conflict of Interest

Editors, reviewers, editorial board members, and authors are required to disclose any financial, institutional, professional, or personal relationships that may create actual or potential conflicts of interest.

All disclosures are evaluated in accordance with the journal's Conflict of Interest Policy, and appropriate measures are taken to ensure an impartial editorial process.
